Travel insurance cut out

Breast Cancer Care has launched a unique Trek Peru trip where you can meet Denise Van Outen and Fearne Cotton to share your Incan adventures!

Meeting the celebrities with Trek Peru will take place on 29 September - 8 October 2010. There are only 30 places up for grabs so get in quick if you want to take part. Trek Peru follows the Inca trail up to Machu Picchu, so participants need to be reasonably fit.

Trekking the Inca trail is a once in a lifetime adventure, and what better way to experience it than raising money for Breast Cancer Care.

Denise and Fearne will embark on their own Inca trail adventure up to Machu Picchu before meeting participants on their first night. Having completed the walk, the celebrity gals will be on hand to answer questions about their Trek Peru journey.

Trek Peru is completed over 10 days, and it begins in Cusco, where you’ll have the chance to acclimatise to the high altitude. The trip benefits from the exploration of the less touristy area of Lares Valley, before trekking up to one of the most famous vistas on the planet - Machu Picchu.

You’ll need to raise a minimum sponsorship for Breast Cancer Care of £3,500 to take part in Trek Peru, and there’s a £250 registration fee. The minimum sponsorship includes return flights, accommodation, food, camping equipment and guides.

A Trek Peru trip with Breast Cancer Care is well organised - they’ve thought of everything from meeting participants at the airport to partying the night away at the end of the expedition!

If you plan to join Trek Peru, make sure you are well prepared for your trip. In October, the weather on the Inca trail is around 20?C, but the higher you climb, the colder it gets at night, so be sure to take a warm sleeping bag and plenty of warm clothing.

You’ll need a visa to enter Peru but this will be handed to you free of charge on international flights. Speak to your doctor or travel clinic about any vaccinations that you will need before you travel.

Buy travel insurance that includes cover for trekking - most travel insurance policies will cover it as standard. Goodtogoinsurance.com provides travel insurance for people of any age, even those with pre existing medical conditions. If you have a medical condition, speak to your doctor before you sign up to Trek Peru - they can tell you if you are fit enough to take part.
