Prostate cancer and travel
A prostate cancer diagnosis or history should not mean giving up on your travel dreams. Let's explore some practical tips and considerations to ensure that your travel is not only enjoyable but also supportive of your health.
Talk to Your Doctor
Before you think about booking travel you should seek advice from your consultant, surgeon or medical professional about your proposed trip. When choosing your destination, consider factors such as climate, altitude, and travel time. How will your body react to different environments? Ask your doctor if you are fit to travel and get them to provide insights into any potential challenges based on your health condition and offer personalised advice based on your health and proposed trip.
Be prepared for the unexpected. Pack your medications in your carry-on, ensuring you won't be left without them if your luggage goes astray. Carry a letter from your doctor outlining your health condition and the medications you're carrying, which can be helpful when going through airport security and in case you need emergency medical attention while abroad.
