We’re very happy to announce another improvement in the travel insurance cover we can provide to our customers: Missed Connection cover is now available to add to any of our travel insurance policies.

Missed Connection extends your travel insurance to include cover in the event that you miss a connecting flight, ferry, cruise ship, train or motor vehicle as a result of a delay to your initial international outbound transport.

Missed Connection cover is suitable for travellers who are going on a cruise, coach or rail holiday which departs from an overseas port or station, or those who are taking more than one pre-booked flight, train or ferry to reach their final holiday destination.

Here’s an example of how Missed Connection cover could help if things go wrong:

A holiday maker, let’s call him Frank, was booked on a Caribbean cruise departing from Miami in Florida. His outbound flight from the UK to Miami was delayed by 4 hours due to a mechanical breakdown, resulting in his late arrival in Miami and the cruise ship departing without him.

Having travel insurance with additional Missed Connection cover would allow him to claim up to £500 to cover additional transport and accommodation expenses to enable him to join the ship at the next port.

Missed Connection Cover can be added to our Silver, Gold and Platinum travel insurance.

We have no age limits on our travel insurance policies and can provide travel insurance cover for all types of pre-existing medical conditions.
