travel insurance over 65

If you are looking forward to trying something a bit more adventurous than lying on a beach or sightseeing on holiday this year it pays to check your travel insurance first.

Although most people are aware of the need for specialist travel insurance cover for skiing or winter sports holidays, many don’t realise that taking part in other sports or activities, such as balloon rides, camel riding or quad biking may also require additional travel insurance cover.

Skiing and other winter sports activities are not normally covered by standard travel insurance policies, but cover is easily added for an additional premium, the same goes for other sports and hazardous activities.

Sports and activities are categorised according the level of risk involved in taking part. A number of activities will be covered as standard, with the option to add extra cover for those that are higher risk.

In order to be covered for emergency medical treatment as a result of an accident whilst taking part in a hazardous activity you must make sure that the activity is covered by your travel insurance. If you don’t you could find yourself facing large medical bills.

Travel insurance over 65 for sports and activities

Goodtogoinsurance.com can provide travel insurance cover for a number of sports and activities as standard, including cycling, windsurfing (on inland waters or within 12 miles of land) and scuba diving up to 18 metres.

Our travel insurance policies have no age limit, which means that even if you are over 65 you can still get travel insurance cover for sports and hazardous activities.

You also have the option, up to age 75, to cover up to 170 more hazardous activities, including trekking over 2000 metres, paragliding and rock climbing.

Never assume that a sport or activity is covered, always check to make sure.

You can even add extra cover for sports and activities once you are on holiday. If you get a sudden urge to try something more adventurous than you’d planned, check your policy wording to see if it’s covered as standard and if not, just give us a call to add cover.
