Help warm up Britain on Bobble Day

Every year the cold weather puts thousands of elderly people in the UK at serious risk. To combat this Age UK are going all out for ’Bobble Day’; a chance for you to help warm up Britain just by donning your finest knitwear!

Bobble Day 2014

On 7th February 2014, thousands of woolly warriors up and down the country will be wrapping up for Bobble Day 2014. The rules are simple, all you need to do is wear something warm to help contribute towards a better winter for many elderly people all over the UK. From a wacky woolly hat to your favourite knitted number, join thousands of others in making a suggested £2 donation whilst also raising awareness for Age UK’s Spread the Warmth campaign.

How can you get involved?

From cake sales, sponsored walks to a winter warming dinner party, there are lots of ways you can raise money for Bobble Day and Age UK’s campaign to help old people at risk from the cold. Start by rallying your office and friends and get them to prepare their woolly wonders for the big day on Friday!

Who are Age UK

Age UK are at the forefront of providing vital services and funding for the elderly in the UK. They estimate that 24,000 people could die from the cold this year, and their Spread the Warmth campaign aims to stop that happening. With rising energy costs and other financial burdens, many old people won’t be able to afford heating this year. Age UK provide vital services and information to those isolated and in need. From a befriending service to providing free financial advice, Age UK’s work is an invaluable lifeline to many people in the UK.
