Missed Connection Cover

Missed Connection extends your travel insurance to include cover in the event that you miss a connecting flight, ferry, cruise ship, train or motor vehicle as a result of a delay to your initial international outbound transport.

Great for cruises, coach or rail holidays which start from an overseas location

You should consider adding Missed Connection cover to your travel insurance if you are going on a cruise which departs from an overseas port, a rail/coach holiday starting from an overseas station, or are taking more than one pre-booked flight, train or ferry to reach your holiday destination.

Here's an example of how Missed Connection cover could help if things go wrong:

You are booked on a Caribbean cruise which departs from Miami in Florida. Your outbound flight from the UK to Miami is delayed by 4 hours due to a mechanical breakdown, causing you to miss the departure of the cruise ship from Miami.

If you added Missed Connection cover to your travel insurance you could claim up to £500 to cover additional transport and accommodation expenses to enable you to join the ship at the next port.

Missed Connection cover up to £500

You can make a claim for Missed Connection if your initial international outbound journey was delayed by more than 3 hours due to adverse weather, mechanical breakdown or technical fault, causing you to miss your connecting aircraft, watercraft, train or motor vehicle.

If you miss your connecting aircraft, watercraft, train or motor vehicle, for an insured reason, you will be able to claim up to £500 to cover costs incurred for additional transport and accommodation to enable you to join your connecting aircraft, watercraft, train or motor vehicle or to reach your final pre-booked destination.

Missed Connection cover can be added to any of our Silver, Gold or Platinum travel insurance policies.
