Cancer travel insurance - Obtaining travel insurance for cancer
When you buy cancer travel insurance we will ask you a short series of multiple choice questions to help us assess the severity of your condition.
Our cancer screening questions may include; what type of cancer treatment you have had, how often you see a hospital doctor for your cancer and if you have any further cancer treatment planned.
You won't need to get a doctor's certificate to buy cancer travel insurance, but you may need to contact your doctor if you are unsure of the answers to any of the questions about your cancer or cancer treatment.
It only takes a few minutes to get a cancer travel insurance quote online or by phone and in the majority of cases cover can be issued immediately.
Why declare your cancer when you buy travel insurance?
Cancer travel insurance's main purpose is to cover the cost of emergency medical treatment abroad.
To make sure that you are fully covered by your cancer travel insurance you need to provide us with an accurate picture of your health by declaring any existing medical conditions to us, including your cancer, when you buy your travel insurance and/or when your medical condition changes.
If you decide not to declare your cancer, or another medical condition, your travel insurance could be invalid and you could find yourself facing large medical bills if you need medical treatment abroad, or find that you are not covered if you need to cancel your holiday as a result of your cancer or another existing illness.
Cover your travelling companions on the same policy
We can also provide cover for your travel companions on the same travel insurance policy, even if they don't have cancer. This means that if your holiday has to be cancelled due to your cancer and you need to make a claim to recoup the cost, your companions can also claim. This is unlikely to be the case if your travelling companions buy travel insurance through another provider.
Additional medical expenses cover with our cancer travel insurance
Specialising in providing travel insurance for cancer patients means that we can provide extra cover which other insurers rarely include in their policies.
- Mobility Aids up to £2,500
Plus, if you undergo surgery abroad and have to stay in hospital for at least 5 days we will provide the following:
- Cost of a recuperation holiday up to £750
- Health examination when you return to the UK up to £500
- Cost of employing a home help or nanny up to £500
- Cosmetic surgery to correct damage caused by an accident on your trip up to £2,500
- Kennel and Cattery cover up to £500
Please read the Policy Wording for the full terms and conditions of this cancer travel insurance cover.
Please note: The additional medical expenses detailed are only available on our Silver, Gold and Platinum policies, not our Cruise Specific products.
